Victoria's Secret Refreshing Body Mist in Love Spell

Layla A.
I first found Love Spell in the summer of 2007 on a mall trip with my cousins. When I first smelled it, it smelled like everything good in the world, in a clear bottle. I have used up about two full bottles of this, but the more I smell it, the less I like it.

SCENT

Victoria's Secret describes Love Spell as cherry blossom, peach, and white jasmine. I can definitely smell all of those things, but after smelling this so much, it just smells like Love Spell- I cannot pick apart the notes anymore. I do not remember how it first smelled to me, but now, it smells heavily of alcohol. What do you? Alcohol is the first ingredient. This is a great room spray or a good scent for a teenage girl, but even being in college, this smells 'too young' and too alcohol-y for me.

STAYING POWER

Since this is a body spray, it only lasts about two hours, max. But when I liked this scent, those first two hours were awesome. If you want this smell all day, I would recommend their eau de toilette version on this that retails for the same price.

FUNCTIONALITY

Since I use this as a room spray and an occasional summer body mist, I still get plenty of use out of this. The bottle is definitely too large to be portable, but once again, I do find myself using this more than I realize. This is a great summer scent for the younger girl, but I definitely do not see this as a year-round scent- it is way too breezy for winter.

PACKAGING

Since I started using Love Spell, the bottle has been redesigned. It is now a cylinder shape with the mister on top, clear bottle with the purple liquid. It is 8.4 fl. oz. which will last a good amount of time. Even though the bottle is a plastic, it is not a crack-able plastic and has been dropped a good number of times with no problems.

PRICE

The Refreshing Body Mist retails at Victoria's Secret for $9, but they often have deals such as 3/$24. Do I think it is worth the price tag? For the younger nose, most definitely. For the slightly older woman/young adult, I recommend Pure Seduction which smells incredible.

FINAL OPINIONS

I have to give Victoria's Secret props for their fragrances. Though I am not crazy about this one anymore, at one time, it totally floated my boat, so to speak. These are not irritating at all, come in a great variety of scents, are a good deal, and last longer than you would think. If you are near a Victoria's Secret and haven't already checked out their body products, I would recommend doing so- I am a loyal customer.
