Victoria's Secret Is That She's Not All She's Cracked Up To Be

Although Victoria's Secret has gained quite the popular reputation over the years, it is not all it's cracked up to be. There are multiple reasons why you will be happier shopping somewhere else.

1. Overpriced

I have never shopped at Victoria's Secret regularly because of the steep prices of their items; however, there was a short time in my life when I visited for the semi-annual sale. During the sale, they sold bras and underwear at a decent price. You could find bras in the bin for around $25-$30 and underwear for as low as around $3. Over the years, the prices have risen heavily, even on items being sold during the semi-annual sale.

On a regular day, cheap thin cotton underwear is sold for $8.50. I could easily go to another retail store and buy the same quality or better underwear for so much cheaper, so I see no need to shop at Victoria's Secret anymore. Even the makeup, small bottles of perfume, and hand sanitizer are overpriced. Their products and designs are no better than any other store at the mall; therefore there is really nothing pulling me there.

2. Overcrowded

Victoria's Secret is always crowded, especially during the semi-annual sale. People run around like chickens with their heads cut off during the sale weeks. They dig through the underwear and stare down other girls who put their hands on the underwear or bra they eyed up first, and therefore apparently already claimed as their own.

3. Too Much Hounding From Workers

If you step into Victoria's Secret, especially during sale weeks, you are immediately hounded by the workers walking around to sign up for their credit card. Then when you turn down the first worker, you are asked again by another worker, and it continues until you leave the store. It is quite irritating.

4. Slow

Every time I go to Victoria's Secret, I stand on line for at least ten minutes, no matter if there is one person or ten people in front of me. Part of the reason is that for some reason, they feel the need to wrap your items neatly in tissue paper before they place it in the bag. This is simple unnecessary. It wastes so much time and paper. People would be just as satisfied without the paper. Other than the time spent wrapping, I don't understand for the life of me what takes so long, but it must be the magic of Victoria's Secret!

Overall, I just don't think it is necessary to shop at Victoria's Secret. They are too full of themselves, and take complete advantage of their name-brand status, that has gained them attention and loyal customers over the years. Perhaps years ago when during sale weeks, you could get a decently priced pair if underwear, it was worth the visit, but that no longer stands as true. The store is just not worth the time or the money anymore. The products are too expensive, quality is only average, and the experience is frustrating.
