Indeed, in my experience it does have high-performance, yet flexible hold. My initial draw to this product was the scent of the So Sexy products. When buying a pomade realize that it's not hair gel, spray,or spritz. Pomade is, by definition, a waxy or greasy substance used to style hair. Unlike a spray or spritz, pomade usually takes several washes to remove all the residue. This can be an advantage by having to use less product over a period of days, but can be a drawback in looking like you have unwashed hair.

One possible solution that I've found is to rinse your hair in the shower instead of shampooing everyday. Shampooing everyday will strip all natural oils from your hair that are essential to good hair. Rinsing the hair with water will rinse any dirt and oil from the hair without the stripping components like most shampoos that are detergent based. Also when you rinse the hair you will remove a small amount of the pomade at a time, leaving some to aid with styling.

Most pomade products are used for slicking back hair, and are commonly used on African-American hair. The definite benefit of using the Victoria's Secret So Sexy Pomade is that it truly can be used on all hair types including African-American.

Application of the Product

The key to using this products is not to apply it directly to hair from the jar, but to use your hands.
First, remove a quarter sized dollop of the pomade, spread it in your palm, and touch both palms together to evenly spread the product across your hands.
