Video clips of the Anthony Pettis WEC kick heard 'round the world have popped up all over the Internet and for good reason.

The kick by Pettis that has been described as a "Matrix" style move is one of the most jaw-dropping moments in MMA history.

It was the perfect way to send the WEC out as the organization hosted its final show, WEC 53. Now, the WEC will essentially merge with the UFC and continue to host its lighter-weight cards.

The Pettis kick and videos of the move are shocking many viewers who didn't think such a move was possible.

Pettis essentially leapt in the air and bounced off the cage while landing a perfect high kick with his right leg on Henderson's head.

Henderson went flying and fell to the mat. The WEC lightweight champion had been vanquished by one of the most impressive moves in MMA history.

Next up for Pettis, nicknamed "Showtime," one of the most fitting names in the sport, will be the winner of Frankie Edgar and Grey Maynard's UFC 125 lightweight title fight as the WEC and UFC continue to merge.

The Anthony Pettis WEC kick video made the number two spot on Sportscenter's top plays of the day, which is actually quite impressive considering ESPN doesn't usually give a ton of exposure to MMA compared with other sports.

Pettis is quickly developing into one of the biggest stars in MMA now because of the kick and also his work before the kick in winning in impressive fashion over Shane Roller and other top competitors in the lightweight division.

Pettis will have a good chance to go on and become world champion in the UFC but for now he is content to be the WEC champion.

And he will always be remembered and crystallized in time because of the videos of his WEC kick that finished off Henderson.
