Video Game Review: Assassin's Creed

Rebecca Gore
In the year 2007 gamers saw alot of great games from Halo 3 to Call of Duty 4 modern warfare. I have played both of these games and you can expect a review on both of them in the weeks to come. The game I'm reviewing for you today is Assassin's Creed. This game caught me totally by surprise when I got this game and started to play it I was amazed at the level of detail in this game from the setting in the 12th century middle east The makers of the game Ubisoft Used a setting not often used in games and they not only brought the 3rd crusade to life but did it with a sci-fi twist, For those of you who have played the game you know what I'm talking about.

Now I don't want to give to much away for those who may find this article interesting and choose to play the game but the storyline of the game is very original and very creative.

Makers Ubisoft went all the way with this game right down to using Lighting fixtures and authentic 12th century middle eastern costumes to make the game experience that much more real. ""The first true next-gen experience has arrived"" {{IGN.com}} Assassin's Creed features open world game play letting you choose how and when to achieve your mission. And much like the Hitman series from Sony Assassin's Creed you half to navigate around 12th century towns like Jerusalem,Acre, and Damascus and if your to obvious guards and knights can become aware of your presents making your mission that much more difficult to complete. You can use anything in the world environment such as climbing to rooftops to get threw towns unoticed or blend in with scholars and use them to get you through towns unoticed. Side missions in the game feature eves dropping,Interrogations,to pick pocketing secret documents to learn more about your target letting you decide the best form of action to complete your mission

Another feature of this game allows for great sword fighting detail with counter moves and strike moves that will take your breath away at how realistic they are and the freedom to not just fight fiercely but to learn from past mistakes and be more aware in future fights. One of the features I thought was one of the best of this game was the swan dive feature witch allows you to jump from roof-tops into piles of hay safely no matter how high the building making for a great form of escape if spotted and being chased by multiple enemies.

The one feature in this game that I believe draws gamers to it is the feature gamers like in any stealth game is the stealth kill. You as the player have the freedom to choose how you eliminate your main target by diving off roof-tops on top of the target for a stealth kill,Sneaking up on your target unoticed in a crowd to get the kill or even from a distance by using throwing knives. The G4 tv network gave this game the Best original game award of 2007 and the Best Animation of 2007.

If I personally gave this game an award I would give it Best Storyline of 2007 Cause I believe that this storyline is the most original out of any game of 2007. For me this game is a solid 8 of 10 stars only because after the completion of the game theres not much more to do, except replay missions for a better score unless like me you like getting a 100% on all missions the first time through then there really isn't any other game modes for this game except the campaign mode. So if you've played it, Beat it, 100% the next thing is to just wait till 2008 release of Assassin's Creed 2: Assassinate Harder!! Thats right A source I Talked to at Ubisoft says the makers are planning a sequel to this game and no information about the sequel released just yet but be sure when they do. I will be the first to bring it to you. So go out there get your game on and enjoy Assassin's Creed.
