Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix™ video game. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the first in the franchise that we have developed for the next generation consoles," said Harvey Elliott, Executive Producer at EA UK. "Together with current generation versions, we are creating an immersive and, above all, faithful Harry Potter experience that will both accurately reflect the world showcased in the film and also delight fans of all ages." Jason Hall, Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment says, "After reading the book and seeing the film, fans will be able to take advantage of the complete interactive experience with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix game." The build up for this video game was so extreme for those Harry Potter fanatics. It is finally here and it's a hit!

The video game was written to be almost identical to the movie and the book. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry goes back for the fifth time to Hogwarts. No one knows about his encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort. The Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. Professor Dolores Umbridge's Ministry-approved course of defensive magic makes the young wizards sadly unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them, so Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves "Dumbledore's Army," Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts. He fully prepares the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.

The video game allows players to choice from multiple characters, including Harry Potter, Dumbledore and Sirius Black. Based on several Wii reviews one of the most liked features is using the control as a wand. It makes it more realistic for the true Harry Potter fans! The video game of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix offers fans the opportunity to explore all around Hogwarts and experience one of the most exciting and dangerous years in the life of the Boy Who Lived. While reading an article on www.newsday.com I learned that those who do not follow the Harry Potter series will most likely get lost and view the game as confusing. The article mentions various "inconsistencies" in the game, but overall the obsessed Harry Potter population gives it a thumbs up!
