When you start the game you are given the chance to pick your character who range from Daffy Duck to or course Bugs Bunny and there are seven in total. Each character has its own strengths and weaknesses I personally liked using Marvin and Taz.
Each character has a side arm weapon which is matched to that character and can be upgraded. The more upgrades you add onto your side arm the greater the effect and ability of the weapon. There are other various weapons that have been seen over the years in the Looney Tunes cartoons. These weapons are the "Acme" weapons that so many of our favorite characters tried to off each other with. Using these weapons made me feel like Wile E. Coyote sometimes, like when a weapon just doesn't seem to work and you think you've tried everything. There are various modes of transportation in the game as well. My personal favorite was the jet scooter; I had such a blast riding it!
Once you've mastered the tutorial you begin the game and set out on the most dangerous mission of your Looney Tunes lives. Your mission is to stop the Evil Mad Scientist from destroying the past and thus negating the future including all life as you know it. You have the ability to travel through our timeline to stop the Evil Mad Scientist and his minions. There are many different landscapes to do battle in, each are beautifully constructed and it looks (in my opinion) like your right there in a cartoon, the artists did a really good job with this game. The sound track does not disappoint either with scores of Looney Tunes themes and songs as well as tracks composed just for the game.
The time traveling aspect of this game really adds to its gameplay and its replay value. You travel through many of the great ancient cities of our world including: Camelot, Ancient Egypt, The Wild, Wild West and many others. Each level has its own charms and types of baddies that you have to battle through to get one step closer to defeating the Evil Mad Scientist.
Though the single player aspect of this game is really enjoyable you can also co-op with a friend and battle your way through the massive hordes of minions. You can also play Looney Arena Battle mode, which allows you and a couple of friends to take the frustration out on each other in an everyman for themselves battle to the death! This is the mode I most enjoyed because it game the chance to explore each of the characters moves and abilities so that it made it easier to play the single player mode after mastering some of my favorite characters most deadly moves.
Overall this is a great game with a lot of replay value. LOONEY TUNES: ACME ARSENAL is a game for any gamer or any age and if you are a fan of the Looney Tunes you will get a kick out of this game! IF you have the chance pick this game up at least for a rental you will not be disappointed.
