The Worst one in the series!! With Quake 4 I was optimistic, I mean I loved the original Quake and Quake 2, I didn't play Quake 3, but I thought games were supposed to get better in a series... I was mistaken.

Quake 4 is supposed to offer a great gaming experience, but is lacking so many aspects to make it a great game. When I first started playing Quake 4 I was pleasantly surprised with the graphics, but the sound quality was poor. I'm not just talking about the voiceovers either, the actual gameplay sounds were at times distorted and I could barely understand the instructions that I was given in the game.

When you start off the game it kind of remind you of Halo 2, but a crappy second rate version of Halo 2! After playing for about thirty minutes I got stuck, because the instructions given to me said to meet the rest of my team somewhere else and then I couldn't find ANYWAY to help me to get to them at first. You are in a foxhole and tunnels when you get the message to meet your team, however the game doesn't tell you that your team is on the other side of the map and that you have to climb (actually jump) out of the trenches to get to them. So like I said, I ran around for awhile and then figured out that you have to jump up on a box to get out of the trench... After getting out of the trench it just gets worse.

Later in the game you have to do a series of puzzle like missions that allows you to meet up and help your team and other teams get through that particular section. Well, I went into the building and found another way to unlock the door that I was suppose to unlock and it screwed up the whole mission since a glitch allowed me to do it in a different way than the game wanted me to do it. Even after restarting and doing the mission the right way, the game still has MAJOR mission assignment flaws. I still ran into situations where the game told me to meet up with a certain group and then offered absolutely no help in pointing me in the right direction or giving me any type of hint as to what I was supposed to be doing.

It's basically like they programmed the game to not help you at all (well, at least for about 97% of the game). There were so many frustrating issues with this game that I gave up on it, as there was no point in even finishing this game with how bad everything was constructed. Even after a few patches were released for this game for the Xbox 360, it still sucked.

I would recommend that anyone who bought this game either use it for a coaster, Frisbee or just throw the damn thing in the trash were it should have been tossed preproduction. If anyone would like a horrible gaming experience then I would recommend picking up this game... Other than that, they creators should have really took a hard look at the game before releasing its' crappiness on the world.
