Video Game Review: From Russia with Love

Sean Connery returns as the Original James Bond 007 in the new game: From Russia With Love. This is the first game ever that literally puts you in 007's world. The release of this game has been highly anticipated as it features movie themed missions.

In this game you are able to customize and build your own Bond! There are many RPG (role playing game) aspects to it. One is that you gain points to build Bond's attributes as you see fit. Some of these attributes are: shooting speed, armor, and ammo slots. You can also upgrade your weapons. Bond can use: Grenades, shotguns, bazookas, PP7 pistols, machine guns, and more. If Bond gets too close to any enemy, however, he must engage him in hand to hand combat. This is no trouble for Bond, however. He can just smack the baddies with his gun or body slam them to the floor!

The classic Bond gadgets are available such as: a laser watch, a mini helicopter bomb, and sonic cuffs. You also get to utilize the cool Bond vehicles with all the fancy gadgets such as: missiles, tire spikes, and machine gun turrets. Lastly, you get to use the jet pack in various levels!

From Russia With Love is set in the 1960's, just like the movie. The game features realistic environments that hold the details of the era. The cars, architecture, and locations fit perfectly to the time era and they look absolutely brilliant. The graphics are just astounding!

Some other cool aspects of the game are that there are various unlockables and secrets to be found. Play as the perfect agent and you may find out what these are!

From Russia With Love has 2 new Bond girls that have been added to it. There is also a social multiplayer mode that is highly engaging.

The soundtrack is quite excellent and is themed right after the James Bond Movies. The voice acting is right on the mark as well. The graphics are hard to be rivaled with. Each character model is well done with superb and detailed facial expressions. Lastly, the numerous cut scenes are of cinematic quality.

From Russia With Love is available on Playstation 2, XBOX, and Gamecube. It has an ESRB rating of T for teen. This is because the game features suggestive themes and violence. For those of you who need a bit of help, or for those of you who just want some easy cheats, a strategy guide is available.
