1. PlayStation 3
Not a game, but a console. Ranging from the prices of $300 to $600, depending on the GB(gigabyte) size. Sony's third console created, was not that big of a success compared to the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox360, but it has done alot for the gaming industry and much more. The playstation3 is probably one of the most advanced pieces of gaming hardware you will see for a while. More powerful than your computer. This guy is helping Alzheimer's disease by letting the user, when not using the PlayStation, 'fold proteins' which can also be known as Folding@Home, FAH or F@H. Now what exactly is folding proteins. Folding proteins is a process where as a 'plypeptide' folds into a characteristic 3D structure. Doing so is not only expensive but difficult when done experimentally to determine the 3d Structure of a protein. Now what Folding@Home does is perform intensive simulations of this protein folding. It is currently the most powerful computing machine in the world. For more information on this subject feel free to visit Stanford University's website on the case:

3. Nintendo DS
A portable console created by Nintendo. Released in the year 2004, was a very different way of playing games. As the console mentions: 'DS' which is short for Dual-screen, the DS was a two screened portable console. One was a touch screen while the other was a normal LCD screen. From this console came great games such as 'Brain Age'.Which is mentioned later on. The Nintendo DS created new ways to seeing games being played, and now might be coming to a Disney Land near you. Why? Because this little device is very popular and a great resource. Disney might be thinking of using it as a portable tour guide!
2. Nintendo Wii
The most intuitive console. Released in 2006. Pricing at around $250. The Wii gives a different method of gaming, and that is motion sensing. Instead of the common controller, the Wii uses a Wii Remote (Wiimote for short), which transmits a signal to the sensor bar (which you place above or below your television) and creates a specific action in a game or other types of things such as the internet. The Nintendo Wii is aimed for everyone of every age and for any type of gamers out there. The games range from hardcore to your friendly casual games.
4. Brain Age
A game which is made to be played at least once a day. This game calculates your 'brain age' as the title says. How? Simply say: by playing different mini-games, ranging from calculating math equations to memorizing words. Many people will probably say, well heck that's as easy as walking but wait until you try it out. You will be pleasantly surprised by your results. The lower your brain age the better, 20 being the lowest. The game also gives a good summary on how the brain works. This might seem like your average boring educational game, but once you pop this game into your Nintendo DS, you will see how fun this game actually is, not only that but it will really help you in your memorizing skills and math skills!
5. Wiisports
A game that came with every Nintendo Wii console. This game was composed of five (5) mini-games, all sports related. They were: tennis, bowling, boxing, baseball and golf. These games were played as though you were really doing the real thing. Tennis included waving the remote at the right time so that your little character, also known as Mii, would hit the ball. Bowling included moving your character to sides and such as you would bowling, and then do a ball throwing movement to bowl. Baseball included throwing the ball, which was just like throwing an actual ball, but if you threw faster, your ball would go faster. You could also be the batter, keeping a batting stance and waiting for the one throwing the ball to release, so that you could hit it, or perhaps bunting. Boxing included using both the wii remote and the wii nunchuk, and acting as though you were actually boxing, throwing hits to your opponent! Finally there was golf, you could pick from the many golf clubs and swing. But remember you have to be careful not to swing too hard or too soft, or else it won't reach your target. Using the appropriate club helps.
There are many other games and consoles that have revolutionized the gaming industry and not just that. As you have seen and read, gaming may be the birth of something new in the world of technology. Many new games and consoles will bring many new ways of doing things you wish you could have. Such as underwater diving, watching many aquatic species in the water, You the diver. There are many more and many more to come.
