Video Games Releasing with the Nintendo 3DS

The new Nintendo 3DS is set to be released in March 2011 for around $250.00 in North America. With all hype surrounding this little machine that offers a 3D experience without the need to for glasses, the most important factor is the games. While there are plenty of rumored 3DS games, here's what is known about some of the upcoming titles that should be releasing near the launch date.

Resident Evil
The 3DS will have two new Resident Evil games, Mercenaries and Revelations. Mercenaries will take missions from RE4 and RE5 plus other modes including possible online co-op. The game will also feature other fan favorite characters from the RE series. Revelations is a full game set between RE4 and RE5. It features Jill and Chris investigating aboard an ocean liner. Hopefully the game will delve deeper into the circumstances of Jill's capture.

Kid Icarus Uprising
The original Kid Icarus game is a classic. This year, fans will finally get a new installment. With its blend of aerial and ground combat, Uprising is a perfect game for the new 3DS. Not much is know about the story or game play, but Pit will be gifted with the power of flight and try to defeat Medusa's army. The game is being touted as easy to pick up and play, but also a deep experience for hardcore gamers.

Older Nintendo Games Getting a 3D Make Over
Many of the first titles for the 3DS will be games that are getting a make over. Star Fox 64 will keep all the features that made the game great. The inclusion of 3D is suppose to give the game play more depth, especially during the space battles. Mario Kart is also an early 3DS title. Again, the depth of 3D will enhance the regular game play. In a recent interview, Shigeru Miyamoto said 3D helps spotting obstacles on the track, making them easier to jump. The most eagerly awaited title getting a 3DS make over is the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. It seems the menu system has been given an overhaul and the graphics look updated. It is unknown if new content will be featured in the classic game. Nintendogs + Cats is another game getting made over, with 3D greatly enhancing the virtual pet experience.

Other Titles Coming to the Nintendo 3DS
While a lot of of titles are being mentioned, there isn't much information on them. Maybe these games won't be available at launch or shorty after, but they are in the works. The 3DS should have games like Metal Gear Solid, Ghost Recon, Kingdom Hearts, and Professor Layton.

Nintendo should have a hit with the 3DS. It will feature a mixture of beloved, classic titles getting a 3D treatment and brand new games like Resident Evil Revelations. These games also appeal to a wide spectrum of gamers from kids to adults, casual and hardcore.
