The historic and bitterly fought health care reform bill passed narrowly Sunday evening in the House of Representatives with a final vote on the health care bill of 219 yes to 212 no votes. According to this Associated Press video, when the votes in favor of the health care bill hit 216, the minimum number needed to pass the measure, House Democrats rose up in cheers and chanted "Yes, We Did."

President Obama wasted no time after the passage of the health care bill to take the stage praising Congress' ability to "rise above heavy politics," according to this Associated Press video. The health care bill passed by the House on Sunday is the same bill passed by the Senate at the end of last year. House Democrats were still scrambling and dealing into the hours before the health care bill's passage to secure the required number of votes, and a package of amendments must clear both the House and Senate.

According to this Associated Press video, both Reps. John Boehner and Nancy Pelosi preceded the vote with their final pleas against and for the health care bill respectively. Boehner, in a fiery speech, said the health care bill was written in backrooms and was not read by those about to pass it while Pelosi said the health care bill saved taxpayers $1.3 trillion dollars.
