Video: Interview with Doctor Who Allegedly Refused to Take Patients Who Voted Obama: I was Angry, Discouraged!

Marc Schenker
The Florida doctor who allegedly refused to take patients by hanging a sign on the front of his practice's door said that he was angry and also discouraged when he tried to inform himself and then his patients about the chaos that is Barack Obama's health care "reform." Appearing in an exclusive cable TV interview with Fox News' Neil Cavuto, Dr. Jack Cassell also clarified that his sign telling patients who voted for Obama to "seek urologic care elsewhere" was misinterpreted and blown out of proportion, as he was adamant that he would still take care of patients regardless of their political leanings and just wanted to send a message about the problems with Obama's health care "reform." It was gratifying to hear the good doctor tell his side of the story away from the liberal, mainstream media's spin, as they had been unfairly piling on and basically accusing him of turning away Obama voters.

Dr. Cassell said that the reason behind his sign appearing on his door came from his dutiful-yet-frustrating efforts to understand precisely the timeline of implementation of some of the provisions in Obama's health care "reform." The provisions that really set off the good doctor-and consequently caused him to post his sign in a form of symbolic protest-were ones concerning ancillary services, diagnostic imaging, and nursing homes. Apparently, in a year or so, according to the doctor, these services "mysteriously" begin disappearing under Obama's health care "reform," which would certainly support the arguments of people like Dick Morris who have long and resolutely asserted that Obama's health care "reform" would lead to rationing of care!

The sign on the front door was also an effort by the doctor to raise awareness among his patients of exactly what would be taking place under Obama's health care "reform." Not surprisingly, confirming that the liberal, mainstream media has utterly manipulated this story to make Dr. Cassell look like some kind of monster, 98% of the doctor's patients are nonetheless "energized" over his efforts to get them thinking about Obama's "reform," of which the sign on the front door is a part, according to him.

When asked by Cavuto about purported violations of ethics that his sign seemed to imply and that a so-called "professor in bioethics" that the AP talked to raised concerns about (clearly the AP went and got a professor who'd agree with their slant against Dr. Cassell), Dr. Cassell reassured the audience that he would under no circumstances refuse patients based on their politics. In doing so, the doctor also soundly refuted the slanderous allegations of hardcore, fanatical, liberal partisan Democrats like Alan Grayson who-if you can actually believe the latest mischievous actions of this man-actually accused Dr. Cassell of racism by turning away black voters! What?!! That accusation by Grayson is so insanely inflammatory that he may as well accuse the doctor of being bigoted towards any other demographic that voted Obama...you know, like every single union member in the country, every single journalist working in the media, and every single deadbeat who was looking for a handout! More likely, Grayson was just using the race issue-race-baiting, as so many Democrats are fond of doing-to advance support for Obama's health care "reform," not because he actually gave a damn about the blacks in Mount Dora.

Curiously, Dr. Cassell also revealed that there are a good number of Obama supporters in his patient base with whom he has political discussions all the time. In fact, not only would he see patients if they're chronically misled Obama supporters, but he would even go the extra step of generously educating them about all the pitfalls of Obama's health care "reform," specifically a two-page timeline that he either was preparing for patients or read about, which would ostensibly contain the worrisome information about all the cuts in ancillary care and more that he became aware of.

There you have it, straight from the horse's mouth if you will. There's the side of the story that's ferociously spun out of any resemblance to basic truth-which the mainstream media is responsible for-and there's the side of the story that belongs to Dr. Cassell who's finally clarified his exact intentions. For my money, I believe the doctor over the spin from the vile, liberal media as they clearly only cared about divining the doctor's intentions and at the very least insinuating that he was guilty of denying care to Obama supporters merely based on reading the sign, but without actually talking to the man. I'll file this story under much liberal ado about nothing.

Interesting article didn't see it on the news however I have been a nurse and there are some patients I have to keep my mouth shut around about Obama and the mess he has made and will continue to make in the White House. It is crazy to think that people are in denial and can't see through his smoke filled promises of reform and economic recovery.. makes you wonder if America is truly that dense. I have seen nothing in our community of recovery and patients are under the belief that health care reform will somehow make things better for all Americans. It is a real shame that he has convinced some of America and mind you I said only some, that things are on the upswing. If they only knew that health care reform is going to bring this country to its knees quick.
I am all for health care change but do it right not a bandaid on a severed arm fix that wont work and at best will only make more people on the state aid health care system thereby forcing the waiting rooms to be filled to

The Hippocratic Oath is one of the oldest binding documents in history. Written in antiquity, its principles are held sacred by doctors to this day: treat the sick to the best of one's ability, preserve patient privacy, teach the secrets of medicine to the next generation, and so on. "The Oath of Hippocrates," holds the American Medical Association's Code of Medical Ethics (1996 edition), "has remained in Western civilization as an expression of ideal conduct for the physician." Today, most graduating medical-school students swear to some form of the oath, usually a modernized version. Indeed, oath-taking in recent decades has risen to near uniformity, with just 24 percent of U.S. medical schools administering the oath in 1928 to nearly 100 percent today.

Although the oaths used today are very loosely based on the original oath, most people do still refer to it as the "Hippocratic Oath".

Seems to be a common feeling these days.

This guy's an idiot. Regardless of what he meant by the sign, it was a dumb move

What's all the talk about the Hippocratic Oath? Does everyone think it is still administered to graduating doctors? Go to www.patientchoices.org/articles/Hippocraticoath.doc to read what has passed for an "oath" for tha past 50 years or so at medical schools. Wake up, America.

He gives different stories with each interview. In another interview he supports as he calls it, Obamacare. He's just a Florida redneck. Piss on him.

Agree totally with Malina's lucid appraisal of the situation.
