Video: Sarah Palin to Dems on Scott Brown's Victory: This is What Democracy Looks Like, Democrats!!!
Speaking by phone to Greta Van Susteren from Alaska, Palin immediately tied the upset loss of Coakley to a broader referendum not only on Obama, but also on his liberal party's truly insane policies that they've been attempting to shove down the throats of Americans despite massive opposition. Calling the loss of Coakley a "tidal wave" of opposition to the status quo in Washington-that would be higher deficits, not listening to the people, etc.-Palin also praised the Brown campaign work ethic of "common sense" as opposed to the elitist habit of bringing in big shots from the party to campaign and speak for him.
When Greta disagreed with her on the reasons for Coakley's staggeringly quick drop in the polls (Greta had blamed it on two, noteworthy cataclysms), Palin reinforced her point that this victory of Brown's was verification of the fact that Americans loudly reject the Democrat push to have the government take over healthcare, the Democrat increasing, recklessly, of debt, and the simply omnipotent desire and drive by these Democrats to continue encroachment into the personal lives of Americans via government.
Pressed by Greta to give the clearly sore Coakley some advice or pointers on what kind of message to take back with her after this complete annihilation of the Dem's stranglehold on the old Kennedy seat, Palin delivered her one-liner that I think should become a catchy slogan of sorts. "This is what democracy looks like, Democrats!!!" No kidding, governor. Democracy indisputably includes listening to the proverbial people, and Palin wasn't done there with all-purpose advice. Taking a somewhat more ominous tone, Palin actually warned Coakley to share this message of rejection by the American people of these Marxist, Democrat policies with all her buddies on the left, and if her party failed to take heed...well, then, they'd hear from the people again in the upcoming midterms in November.
Greta then went for a little, surprising curveball as she insinuated that the GOP and the Tea Party movement somehow were at loggerheads. However, Palin rightly corrected Greta on the matter, reminding her that the Tea Party movement is actually an offshoot from within the GOP and some independents, too, who merely believe in the conservative and truly American values of smaller government and strong, national security. She then ended her point with the fact that the Tea Party movement best embodies the belief that political power originates from the people and that government comes from the people's will; she then muses that these ideals are what the GOP should be representing, perhaps lamenting the fact that the GOP had strayed from this in 06 and 08.
As a parting shot, the interview ends with Palin telling the now-infighting Democrats to stop their sniping at each other. Drawing from her own experience when she was scapegoated by the McCain camp, Palin instructs these squabbling Democrats to just "get over that" and work together to get some solutions for the challenges the country faces. Aye, if only it were that easy, especially with the Democrats now wanting to save face for this staggering, upset loss.
