2000 Kids Play Chess at Once in Brazil
Heloisa e Lucas Silva on What Ayrton Senna Chess Cup was Like
Last Sunday in Sao Paulo - capital of the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil - the Ayrton Senna Chess Cup took place with 2000 kids from schools all over the state competing. Students were divided by age categories. The Ayrton Senna Foundation and the government of Sao Paulo supported the event. Ruling and organization was provided by the Sao Paulo Chess Federation. Chess is a fantastic sport. Maybe more than any other it is great for the mind, it trains it and empowers its perception. Chess is good for everybody, but it is specially good for kids to develop concentration and mind skills. Kids that won 4 rounds got medals, the three first winners of ever category got trophies and all of them got a lot of news friends and an experience they will never forget.
