AIG Cut Another $25B Off Amount Owed to Government
American International Group (AIG) has cut about $25 billion off of the amount it owes to the government by moving its American International Assurance Company and American Life Insurance Company into holding units ahead of planned sales. AIG is giving the government $25 billion in preferred shares of the two companies.
