Apple Inc. Down Ahead of iPad 2 Launch as Speculation Center
Apple Inc. (AAPL) has shed its opening bell gain and has been trending lower throughout the afternoon, down 1%, as speculation mounts about whether Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs will host the second-generation iPad launch on Wednesday. The stock popped $2.06 at the bell to open at $355.27 and hit a session high of $355.72, before sellers began pushing shares back as part of a broader sell-off, leaving the stock at $349.54, down $3.67, or 1.04% in mid-afternoon trading. Should Jobs attend the event, analysts say the stock will gain. Likewise it could see a sell-off without his presence, according to the AP.
