A St. Patrick's Day Tradition: The River is Renamed "O'Shannon" for the Day
The Riverwalk park authority pours lots of safe-grade green dye into the San Antonio River on St. Patrick's Day, turning the water a very dark, houseplant-type green. Some river cruise customers enjoy the first ride in the waters.
