Environmentally Beneficial Patents Pledged to Public Domain
The Eco-Patent Commons added Dow Chemical (DOW), as well as a Fujifilm-Xerox (XRX) joint venture, to its roster of partners. The project, launched last year by IBM (IBM), Nokia (NOK), Pitney Bowes (PBI), and Sony (SNE) in partnership with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, asks partners to pledge patents to the public domain that can be helpful in protecting the environment.
