GE CEO defends company
General Electric (GE) CEO Jeff Immelt yesterday addressed two of the company's recent PR problems - the catastrophe at a nuclear complex in Japan that used GE technology and the fact that the company paid no federal income taxes last year, The Washington Post reported. Immelt said the nuclear complex had been built many decades ago, that GE would not be held liable for damages caused by it, and that GE follows all tax laws and had huge losses during the financial crisis.
