nice video. I can't find "Run" on the Accessories menu. I found Command Prompt, but it doesn't recognize the command MSCONFIG...

Very helpful and informative. I actually already knew how to do this, but the warning message I get when I restart freaked me out, and had me wondering whether it was actually safe to use this method to disable all the stuff that puts itself in your start up without your consent. I'll try it again and see how it goes. Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with posting 'critical' comments. As you may find out or already know yourself, some comments can be extremly rude and immature. I only try to delete rude comments. Posting a critical comment and a rude one are two entirely different things. Your comment stays (as well as the other 'critical' comment listed).

Good job man very clear and helpful.

Deleting comments simply because they are critical is very poor etiquette. I won't waste my time reposting mine, however. I expect you'll delete this as well.

Great video! I've been wanting to do this.

Thank you ro. It would do no one any good if they can see the msconfig list that I have on my computer simply because it is different for each computer. On top of that, I am using Vista so it would be even more different. What I recommend to disable will NOT mess your computer up and I also say that BEFORE you disable anything make sure you know what it is your disabling!

This was very unclear & as compgeek says may mess things up - I can't rate this highly at all.

  • ro6/7/2007

for compgeek....if you are the geek, you should know that disabling these programs, will NOT harm your pc...it does make it run faster.....
besides, even if you can see him ...you can hear what he is saying

go to start...then run.....type in msconfig....go to start programs and disable all that you do NOT want to start upon starting PC
