Here are some tips that my family and I use while grocery shopping. 1. Don't shop for food while you are hungry. 2. Use your store cost cutting card (if available). 3. Make a list of foods you want to buy before you go to the store. 4. Don't spend too long in the store. 5. Buy store brands to save money. 6. Clip coupons to save on various brands. 7. Make soups, stews or casseroles that can last for more than one meal. 8. Limit foods that contain a lot of salt, sugar, acid, preservatives, partially hydrogenated oils, bleached flours. 9. Purchase fresh fruits and veggies, foods with fiber, fruit juices, fresh meats, wheat products. More Tips coming soon

If you are using coupons on items you would already buy you can save a LOT of money. To make it work you need to start by ADDING $20 to you budget. Now you can do that by cutting something else out. Example, I clip coupons for my husbands deoderant and buy it in large quantities. I hang onto the coupon as long as possible to see if it will ALSO go on sale. I swap with my friends for SPECIFIC coupons, one friend buys gogurt so I save those for her and she saves my MY brand of cat food and I save her brand coupon for her bc we use different ones. Then I buy a LOT of the item all at once, so I get like 12 deoderants at once or 4 bags of cat food. The cat food sits on the shelf at the store so it can be stored under a bed or in a closet just the same. After 2-3 months you will see a big reduction in your bill bc you won't be buying the regular stuff like toothpaste, shampoo, cat food, chips etc. every month. BE CAREFUL to buy the package with the farthest expiration date

Coupons don't save money; they are marketing devices. Nor do loyalty cards. Try to shop at stores that offer neither. Make a list, stick with it. Bag salad mixes are not fresh and spoil quickly.
