Awesome video! We have tried everything at home, so this is great. We will definitely give it a try. We own a site called http://www.all-dog-houses.com so we'll make sure to mention on their as well!

My dog could find a pill in ANYTHING and spit it out. That is, until I tried a piece of American cheese. Tear the slice in 1/2 and use 1/2 of that (1/4 slice) to wrap the pill. The other 1/4 I give him afterward (with no pill). My dog comes running to me now anytime he sees me take his pill container out of the cabinet.

I really like your video! Our feisty Lydia (80 lbs) is hard to handle, so my husband gives her a pill in peanut butter. Though as you said, we've seen dogs who can ferret a tiny pill out of ANYthing & spit it out! Now have you got a video on how to get a big neurotic dog to let her nails be trimmed w/out general anesthesia?! ; )

Not all medicine can be cut up. There are many meds that need to be taken without food to get the maximum effect.

    Here's an idea:
cut the medicine into little tiny pieces.
Mix it with your wet food (or soft Non-shewing food)
then give it to the dog.
    Problem Solve!

Good idea or Bad idea? Please comment

Anne, unfortuneately the hiding in food method does not work for every dog. I had a Jack Russell that could find a pill in anything!

although this is helpful... i have a much better way of giving a dog a pill. Unless you are really opposed to giving your dog 'people food', wrapping the pill in a piece of lunchmeat like salami or bologna makes it super easy to get your dog to be excited... he doesn't even know he's taking a pill!
