How to Hang a Towel Bar on a Hollow Core Door

Hollow core doors require an extra step when hanging a towel bar, hook, or any hardware on them. You will need a power drill, drill bit, plastic wall anchor, hammer, and a few screws. First, pre drill your hole into the door. Your plastic wall anchors will tell you what size drill bit to use. Tap the wall anchor into place. Line your towel bar up and screw it into place. It is that simple!

I would have also chosen to use a top and bottom screw on each end. It would just secure the entire bar a little more.

Using a plastic wall anchor showing in the video usually will not work. Try using an anchor for hollow doors, e.g., a toggle anchor or a mollie.
