"They met at the Blue Theater in east Austin, Texas. Grant found himself quite taken with their style of music of string players, a violist and a cellist. Grant asked the violist if he and his cellist friend would like to be a part of a musical project. The violist and the cellist introduced themselves as Andrew and Andrew. They said they were interested. They started playing gigs at the Flying Tomato Pizza Kitchen located in the wealthy Austin suburb of Westlake. A demo was recorded by the talented Stephen Orsak. Conga player Chris Sebastian joined on, and Andrew the violist started occasionally posing as Andrew the mandolinist. Also, Grant convinced his beautiful wife, Amy Hudson-Downing, to share his vocal responsibilities. Infinite Partials began as a dream and is now a reality."
