Just How Fast is Cox "High Speed" Internet?
If you live in those areas where Cox Communications does business, you've seen those commercials for Cox High Speed Internet. Typically, Cox advertises itself about three times an hour on every channel on its lineup. But how fast is Cox High Speed Internet really? Here is an example of what I, as a Cox high speed internet customer, must deal with EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Post a Commentit's because they are to cheap to replace old crappy cables, they'ed rather spend the money on false advertizing. Mine disconnects every two minutes, cant even watch a youtube clip with this garbage. There is nothing wrong with my computer, I wiped two days ago and reinstalled the OS. I'm switching as soon as the next bill comes in.
I have Cox high speed internet and it doesn't take anything to load my pages, it all depends on how fast your processor is as to what speed your page load and also it helps if you don't have a bunch of junk on your hard drive too.
I dont think the speed, or lack of it, has anything to do with a computer. I have been using Cox DSL for years, and had to buy a new computer to try and help with the lousy speed using Cox. Their high speed service is a complete joke. I am looking elsewhere, and warning friends to stay away too.
dude... this is BS. i use cox high speed internet and all my pages load in under 1 second. you must have the shittiest computer in the world
Same with my computer.
Your full of it. your computer has a freakin bug or something dude...Mine is superfast and Cox is the best you can possibly get in my opinion
Yeah it looks like there more going on there than just your internet problems.
Have you checked your computer to make sure it isn't riddled with malware or spyware? That can slow down your high-speed services also as you know. If that's the result from your Cox Internet...then that's almost worthy of a lawsuit. Get a techie out there immediately to look at your computer and/or modem. I've never hesitated to contact the tech geeks from Comcast (the one I'd recommend over Cox) to come out and check out problems if I had any slowdowns. I did have some slowdowns a few times...and they fixed it so my modem was smoking again. It can be a myriad of different problems (mine was sunlight hitting the cable connection outside), so don't rule anything out.
This was painful enough to watch just once. I can't imagine going through this everyday!
