A scale is a series of ascending and descending notes or pitches. The C major scales of consists of no flats or sharps. Solfège also called solfeggio, is used in sight singing in place of notes (Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, la Ti, Do). There was a familiar musical called "The Sound of Music" directed by Robert Wise used solfege in it's musical piece called DO RE MI. The music was done by Richard Rodgers and the lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
