(Over) There
This video is for all those who have served, are serving and will serve in our armed forces. For those who walk the fence and those who huddle in the trenches. For Amanda (TX), Scotty (CA) and David (Iraq) who do our country and our family proud. For Gunner's Mate Mike "Mac" McCammon, wherever he may be now. In the early eighties, while in the Persian Gulf during the Iran / Iraq war, Mac and I manned the .50 cal in case one of those pesky missiles they kept shooting at each other, oil tankers and us came our way. He had served in 'Nam and we talked quite a bit about his time there. I was inspired both by his tales & our situation at the time. I kept this to myself & a few family members. I share it now as a dedication to our young men and women who understand more than most the true meaning of patriotism and sacrifice, honor and duty. And as a way of saying 'thank you' for all they do to keep us safe and allow us to live the life we often take for granted.

Post a CommentThis is a beautiful tribute to all who have served our country. Very touching.
Yes, I DID get noticed of this one, Charles - and am better for it! Nice job - THanks.
Charles, this is a nice tribute to our soldiers everywhere. (^;^) My ex retired from the Air Force after 20 years, and I spent 3 years as a med spec in the National Guard. I've been married to an army vet now for the past 10 years and we appreciated your song.
