Video showing the proof of a way to find the area of an equilateral triangle which is not the common way. This is an original proof, not usually shown in textbooks.

    The Proof for Area of Equilateral Triangle over complicates.

    Try this:

    The half of the base lenghth is a/2.

    Tan 60 = h/a/2

    h = a.Tan 60/2

    Tan 60 = 3^1/2

    Area = a/2 * a Tan 60/2

    Therefore area = (a^2 . 3^1/2)/2*2
