Post a CommentSo he didn't like the show. Big deal. Who hasn't stuck with a job they hated? All this really shows is that Beltran and Chakotay aren't the same person(gasp!).
Well, I have no desire to see him in any future tv series, movie, or anything for that matter.
He was the worst charater on Voyager, and the worst acting performance from a regular with the possible exception of Garrett.
It was clearly a joke - the guy does a charity event; lots of trek actors help him with it, Even if it wasn't a joke the guy has a point. His character was forgotten and just stayed the same.
I suspect the people who say otherwise are the same people who hate Wil Wheaton for playing a character he couldn't control.
If he was any kind of a man at all he would have quit. How can you hate something so much, and stay for seven years. He sold out, he has no morals. Obviously money is the most important thing in his life. Very poor judgement on his part.
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, saying so is not always the best idea for one's reputation and career. If I had been the person writing his checks and heard him mouth off like this about a project (serious or not), not only would his butt be fired the next day, but I'd make sure he didn't come within 5 lightyears of any other project I funded. I'm trying to figure out what he gains from alienating his largest fan base ever and can't think of anything. Whatever the case may be with him, he lacks good judgement as an actor and businessman.
He is acting like a complete TWAT!
He was not serious. He has said in numerous interviews he is not a sci-fi fan, and he even said he hopes is HUMOR does not offend anyone. He is grateful for the Star Trek gig, and is proud of it. READ or look up his INTERVIEWS. Geez.
Next time I like a show I'm not going near the internet! I like blissful ignorance.
That's just really disappointing. There's no excuse to be like that, even if he was drunk. I'm not a Trekkie, but I like Voyager, and thought his character was great.
He just has no respect for himself. And he should have more respect for serious fans - they love something and they're proud of it. That's alot cooler than doing something you hate for 7 years.
I did this interview tongue in cheek but realized Beltran was serious. I love Star Trek. He does not. He seems kind of bitter. Heard he got booed off the stage at a con in Germany for being critical of the fans and the show. So I understand if people call him names. Have to remember to have a sense of humor about things but at the same time remember to maintain respect. As a comedian that's a slippery slope.
