Simple Chinese Lantern Tutorial
To create a Chinese Lantern, start with a sheet craft paper, scissors and transparent tape. Fold the paper in half. Cut a 3/4 inch strip and set aside. On the fold, cut 3/4 inch slits through both thicknesses of the paper, stopping 1-1 1/2 inches from the opposite edge. Cut one strip every 3/4 inch, till the full length of the paper is cut. Unfold the paper and fold in the opposite direction, gently bending the paper into a cylinder. Secure with tape. Affix the first strip you cut to the top of the lantern to form a handle, by taping the ends to the inside top edge of the lantern.
