I've read and listened to your take on pageants and for the most part everything you have said I agree with.
My four-year-old daughter and I are invovled in the pageant world and she does about 2-3 pageants a month both natural and high glitz..We both enjoy the natural, but LOVE the glitz pageants,b/c she loves to be the little princess and do the heavy make-up and the big hair.
I personally like the glitz b/c it's always easier to tell a child that she didn't win b/c she needs a new dress or more modeling lessons, than to tell her that the judges didn't think she was pretty enough. And even though I never had to deal w/this first hand,I have had friends who have told their kids these things.
Personally,I already know that my daughter is amazingly beautiful and the glitz pageants just help her with posie and interview skills. Oh and of course self-confidence!!
But,anyway I love your take on pageants ,keep them coming!!
