My husband's and my heart are grieving today ( we had our 12 yr. old Schnauzer put down Mar 9, 2012) after a 10 day illness. We have been unconsoleable until I found these comments and somehow, I feel so much more hopeful that we shall be reunited in Heaven with our pets, as well as our loved ones. Thank you, each one, for your belief and caring in posting your comments.

Yes,dogs go to Heaven ! Why would God create a soul-less creature to accompany us on life journeys? Catholics believe St Francis to be Patron Saint of all animals. What about all the St Francis metals the church sells for the protection of all pets? Should I get my money back? I have never met a lying dog except an ex! In the end all good things of the earth will be with us in Heaven! (no not your pay check!) Expect to see good friends, companions, best buddies, some relatives & your loving dog .(who in some cases is all of the above.) Did I forget to mention cats?
The Pearly Gates never tuned away a Dog! Remember & don t hate me for this but ( no disrespect ) dog is God spelled backwards. Seriously folks, why would He do that?

Yes , Dogs go to Heaven . Why would God create an animal without a soul? Catholics believe St Francis is the Patron St. of animals. Why then make metals for protection of these soul-less creatures? All the good on this earth will be waiting for us on the other-side. Your companion & Friend ,Dog & yes I believe even Cats will partake in greeting us at the Pearly Gates!!!,

When we lost our Wolf, a german shepherd mix, our hearts were broken. But I know that I will see her again. God gives us the desires of our hearts. My desire is to run free in a meadow with Wolf by my side. She watched over me when I was sick like a mother watches over her baby. Do animals have souls? I believe they do. They understand more that we know. They just can't communicate with us in a verbal language we understand, but boy, do they communicate love, loyalty and caring in ways we could learn from if we were as smart as we think we are. God can never bring the lion and the lamb together in this world, but he says they will lay down together in Heaven. Oh, and by the way, I'm a retired United Methodist minister.

I believe that this video would have been a lot better and I would have been able to understand what she was saying if that music had not been so loud. Other than that, I DO believe that we will see our animals in Heaven when we get there. I believe that they will be waiting for us just like our loved ones (human) will. No doubt about it in my mind. I just wish that everyone believed that.

Are you all children responding to this question? Of course no pets will be in heaven. They have no souls. When they die they go into the ground and that's that. Sorry.

I believe our pets will meet us in Heaven. After all, aren't they God's creatures as well? I know I will see my dear 34 year old Thoroughbred horse there, as well as cats and dogs I have had over the years. Their Heaven may be different from ours, but I believe we will see them again, once we cross the Rainbow Bridge to the other side.

The passage from Isaiah 11 explicitly refers to "earth" not heaven. Should I expect all the mosquitoes I've squashed to be in heaven too? Perhaps all the dearly departed bacteria as well. They're as much a part of "creation" as your dog. Can't wait to meet the bubonic plague in heaven.
