World Water Usage to Surge; Technology May Help
The world's water usage is expected to surge by 40% over the next two decades, and according to a senior project leader in Alcoa's (AA) Environmental Science and Sustainable Technology Division, that could stress up to two thirds of the world's population. The company sees engineered natural systems for water reduction and treatment as a technology-driven answer to water problems facing businesses and communities, and has adopted technologies designed to decrease water usage and return more clean water to the communities where Alcoa operates.
