Barry Sanders Jr. Profile

Barry Sanders is arguably the best and most exciting running back who ever lived, and now, videos of his son Barry Sanders Jr. show that the second in the family to bear the name may in fact be another superstar at the college level and perhaps beyond.

Barry Sanders Jr. is a member of the class of 2012 and plays for Heritage Hall Schools in Oklahoma City.

Of course, Barry Sanders Sr. attended Oklahoma State, where he racked up a ton of yards and went on to win the Heisman Trophy before going on to have a Hall-of-Fame career with the Detroit Lions.

Several Youtube videos have surfaced of Barry Sanders Jr. and his amazing runs, and Sanders shows a lot of the same flair for running and the same style that his father had.

First of all, Barry Sanders Jr. is a short but stocky running back in the mold of his father at 5-foot-9, and like his father he also has the ability to make quick cuts and to accelerate through holes at amazing speeds.

He has the same breakaway speed as his father and perhaps maybe more at his age than Barry Sanders Sr. had because one of the few knocks on the elder Sanders is that he got caught from behind a little too often.

Barry Sanders Jr. shows in the various Internet videos that he is capable of taking short passes and going the distance on any play.

Of course, that's not to say that Barry Sanders Jr. will be as good or better than his father; that's way too much pressure to heap on anyone.

But he does have a chance to be a special player and he does show flashes of the all-world ability of his father. He can't quite stop on a dime like the elder Sanders but he can make people miss easily and he is a four-star prospect according to his profile on Scout.com.

Barry Sanders Jr. is being recruited by major schools including Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State, and it's only a matter of time before he gets more offers.

The videos of Barry Sanders Jr. are just as impressive as numerous other recent high school phenoms and being Barry Sanders' son only adds to the hype and expectations; let's hope that they don't put too much pressure on the talented youngster who still has a lot of football to play in his career.
