In the wake of the passage of a mammoth health care reform bill Sunday in the House of Representatives, the American public is now asking the appropriate question: what are health care bill pros and cons? Such a question is not easy to answer as the bill itself is well over 1,300 pages in length, but as this Associated Press video points out, of the health care bill pros and cons, one of the immediate effects is a ban on denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions.

Of the health care bill pros and cons it remains to be seen whether requiring every American to have health insurance, as the bill does, can be chalked up as a pro or a con as the uninsured will face penalties under the new bill, but the government will provide subsidies to those who qualify to help make health insurance affordable. Small businesses have their own health care bill pros and cons to contend with, as this CNN video details, including a requirement of states to set up "insurance pools" for small businesses and small businesses required to offer insurance to employees or face a $750 fine.

As much of the bill would not take effect until 2014 the health care bill pros and cons can be debated at length. However, some aspects of the bill, such as a $250 rebate for seniors with trouble paying for medication and a provision to allow children to stay on their parents' insurance plans until age 26, take effect immediately.
