Vietnamese Cinnamon a Product of King Arthur Flour

The World's Finest Cinnamon

NANCY CZERWINSKI
I would like to start this review by saying I love this cinnamon.

A few years ago I was searching for cinnamon and I came across King Arthur Flour. I ordered a catalog and waited patiently for it to arrive.

They are known as the baker's catalog and that is very true. www.kingarthurflour.com

I found Vietnamese cinnamon in their catalog. They sell Vietnamese cinnamon in 2 oz containers. The cost is $4.95 It is a little pricey but I would recommend it to anyone. It truly is a delight.

On the back of the container it states that this cinnamon is considered by many to be the world's finest cinnamon. That sounds good to me and I happen to agree with this statement. It goes on to state that this cinnamon is also known as Saigon Cinnamon. It says it's grown along the Chinese border. It's sweet and aromatic, and because of its extremely high oil content, it's much more potent than the Indonesian cinnamon that is commonly sold in supermarkets. I learned something new today because I didn't know that the cinnamon in the grocery stores is usually made in Indonesia.

I use it in when I bake my apple pies, apples and anything that calls for cinnamon. I even use it in my baked beans.

I love cinnamon in my tea too so I sprinkle a little in my cup when I'm having tea. The aroma is so enticing.

During the Holidays King Arthur had a special going if you bought The Vietnamese cinnamon they were giving free shipping. That seemed like a nice savings to me so I ordered 2. My cinnamon came within a few days. I love this product and will be using it for a long time to come. If you get a chance give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Enjoy!

King Arthur Flour is located in Norwich, Vermont.

Nancy, I was excited when I first read this until I phoned the company. This is not a "Free Trade" item. That simply means that the workers are not compensated, work in lousy conditions and not even allowed to go to the bathrooms. While we enjoy this spice, the workers barely scrape by. Sorry, but I cannot purchase anything from other countries unless they abide by the Free Trade organizational standards. cheers
