The Museum of Glass offers exhibitions of contemporary art glass. Their exhibitions change each year, allowing a new and unique experience each time you visit. View the beautiful art glass created by contemporary artists from around the world as well as art created at the museum by their resident team of professional artists.

The museum's hot shop is a state of the art studio, where you can watch the resident team of artists demonstrate how they create their art from molten glass. Spend as much time as you like viewing the artists, as they bring to life their creative designs through a process known as glass blowing. In addition to the home team, the museum invites internationally recognized artist's to participate in the hot shop. Almost every week a new artist will be working along with the resident team.

The museum offers self guided tours as well as guided tours. I personally prefer to roam on my own, so I can spend more time exploring my favorite displays. Information panels as well as guides are available to answer any questions.

The museum also offers an on sight restaurant. So after touring the museum and working up an appetite you have the option for a nice sit down lunch.

At the entrance of the museum there is a large museum store that features merchandise created by the resident team of glassblowers. They also offer handmade glass and ceramic pieces by local contemporary artists and much more.

The beauty and the wonder of the museum also extends outdoors, where you can take in the glass sculptures that are placed throughout the plaza and in or near the water.

Check out the Chihuly Bridge of Glass a 500-foot-long pedestrian overpass. It features the art of Tacoma native Dale Chihuly, whose art is recognized worldwide. The bridge serves as a link from downtown Tacoma to the museum.
