Viktorya and the Cat, James Bond Style

This is Hale, Viktorya Hale

It was a normal Thursday morning as I head to my daily housecleaning job, oh about a half hour away. I downed about one cuppa jo and was feeling pretty good.

I grabbed up my bucket after backing up to the garage door of my fairly new client. Ready to get busy and in high gear, I trailed to the back sliding glass door, never knowing that I had to put on my James Bond 007 face. Oh yeah the fight was on.

I slipped past the chair, about half way. She jumps out and a hiss.

"Oh Bella", I squealed. "What is wrong with you?"

Could it have been the yummy smell coming from the simmering crock pot in the kitchen? I had no idea as my second attempt was even worse. This kitty was not letting me by. I heard a quiet howl in the background. It must be Maggie!

"I hear you Maggie", I reassured the cutsie little pooch who was in the laundry room. She responded with another whimper. I was going to rescue my new little furry friend and this darned ol' pussy cat wasn't going to stop me.

I attempted to sneak past her, yet again, to no avail. She wasn't giving up, so I politely went around the other rooms to collect the bedding. I knew I had to somehow make it past the kitty, to get to the laundry room and wash these sheets. It was a no go. Okay so I will sit on this couch right here, talk to Bella (nicely) and fold the clothes. Boy was my cleaning flow out of whack that day.

One by one, I threw the sheets into the entrance way of the laundry room, well close to it anyway. Cringing every time Bella hissed, I knew she was not going to let me win. I got up enough nerve and ran into the laundry room. She chased me there! Oh my goodness, this cat doesn't not like me. Was it because I didn't bring her any kitty treats but I brought Maggie some? I didn't know, but I did know that I was going to get that house clean!

Slowly I opened the door, just to find Bella hissing and scratching at me.

"There has got to be a way", I thought. Then all of a sudden, it hits me!

THE VACUUM CLEANER **James Bond music begins playing in my mind as I am cracking up laughing at myself**

I find the broom in the garage that is just out of the laundry room. This is enough to keep her away from me. My main concern was my reflexes if she were to attack me. I didn't want to hurt her. I managed to pretend to sweep towards her and make my way to the closet with the VACUUM CLEANER in it. Phew, a relief!

I plugged that bad boy in and started to vacuum. I looked one way and then the other, as I laughed hysterically at myself. She was one bad little kitty. I mean she chased me around the house!

I stopped at the first bathroom, shut the door, VACUUM CLEANER still intact. I was able to clean the bathroom in peace. Then I came out, looked one way, looked the other and headed towards the first room and out of the corner of my eye was Bella. She ran into the master bedroom.

"Yes", she can stay in there until I was finished with the rest of the house! What an awesome idea! I vacuumed my way to the bedroom and shut that door. Ahh, pure peace, until it was time to clean the master bedroom.

I managed to chase her into another room to finish cleaning, using my 007 tactics.
