They are a typical pizza place in the sense that you can order pizza, sandwiches and other typical fried fare, but it's so far from typical when it comes to taste and quality. The pizza is great, my kids and I often stop in for a slice on our way home from school. They have an extensive lunch menu, everything from lunch sized pasta entrée such as their Broccoli or Spinach Ziti: a combination of veggies sautéed in olive oil, tossed with pasta and fresh garlic then doused with parmesan cheese or you could chose a lunch sized Veal Scaloppini with Mushroom, a sinful dish prepared with white wine, fresh mushrooms tossed in a light marinara sauce. All lunch entrees are served with your choice of soup or salad.
For dinner, Villa Rosa offers some fabulous options. My favorite is the Chicken Vesuvio, which is chicken breast topped with both spinach and tortellini covered in Alfredo sauce... it's insanely good! My husband prefers their Eggplant Rollatini with is eggplant stuffed ricotta cheese and covered in tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, then baked to crispy perfection. Entrees are served with soup or salad or pasta.
Villa Rosa also carries a wide selection of sandwiches that are perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. We love their Meatball Parmesan sandwich, their meatballs are perfectly seasoned and the cheese they top it with can't be beat. They also carry pretty good cheesesteaks, we love the Pizza Steak, again for the cheese they top the sandwich with, it's so gooey and good! As a side for your sandwich, be sure to get French fries or onion rings, and for your pasta, you can add a side of meatballs or sausage for a minimal charge.
Don't forget their pizzas! The Brooklyn Style Pie is absolutely delicious, and quite true to the traditional Brooklyn style pizza. The best pizza they offer, in my opinion is the Penne Vodka Sauce Pizza, which as it's name suggests it's got vodka sauce in place of the traditional tomato pizza and sauce, and it's to die for!
So, if you're in the Yardley/Newtown area, be sure to stop into Villa Rosa for an absolutely delicious lunch or dinner. The service is great and the dining area is inviting, but very casual.
