Village Edelweiss Subdivision Real Estate and Community Slide Show

A Neighborhood to Consider If You Are Moving to St. Charles, Missouri

Elle
Village Edelweiss is a small community of less than 50 homes built on old farmland with a single entrance off the West side of Caulks Hill Road. The subdivision is comprised of one main street (White Rose Lane) with an additional side road (Poppy Marie Lane), both of which end at a cul-de-sac. Poppy Marie Lane also has a very small court at the end with a third cul-de-sac and that is the entire community. While there are no additional amenities to set this neighborhood apart from other subdivisions in the area, it would still be a great neighborhood to live in for several reasons.

The community itself is quaint, with sidewalks throughout. Street lamps light the roadways at night for safety and add aesthetic curb appeal. The homes are predominantly two-story with a few ranch style homes mixed in. Most of the homeowners keep well-maintained yards, with the exception of a few pre-school toys here or there that lay in the front yard of one home.

The location of the subdivision provides great access to the St. Charles area with the closest main intersection being the one at Highway 94 and Harvester Road just a few blocks from the North end of Caulks Hill. Although it is only a two-lane road, Caulks Hill Road is extremely busy and very narrow. The road does provide a middle turning lane for most of the stretch. I expect that sometime in the future they might extend the road to reach over into Chesterfield, but that is a stretch. I am not a topographical expert, but the layout of the land appears that this could feasibly be done in the future should there be a need to do so.

Highway 94 at Harvester is the main access to the properties off Caulks Hill Road and will probably be under construction from 2009 to 2005. Some of the existing residents have complained about the changes, but the flow of traffic is not horrible. Many of them are just used to the old flow of traffic and had to alter their thinking.

Francis Howell is the school district for this subdivision and the respective schools for each grade would be Castlio Elementary, Bryan Middle, or Francis Howell Central High School depending on your child's age. You can access the neighborhood school guide that tells you which district you are in at http://sup.fhsdschools.org/streetlist.asp.
