Their pizza is so different than traditional pizza parlors in the sense that they have a expansive, exciting variety that none other can match. Their dough is hand made daily and their traditional sauce and cheese variety comes in both hand tossed and pan style crust. They have a wide selection of white pizzas including their Chicken Florentine Pizza, which is topped with chicken, spinach and provolone cheese before being baked to crispy perfection. Their Greek Style Pizza is smothered with both feta and mozzarella cheeses, spinach, tomatoes, garlic and olive oil.
Other gourmet pizzas include the Philadelphia Style Pizza, which is covered with steak, cheese and sauce. Another fantastic pick would be their Villagio Special Pizza which is a heavy pizza covered with cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, beef, sausage, bacon, green peppers and onions as well as ham and fresh tomatoes. You can opt out of anchovies if you prefer but this pizza is fabulous when ordered with the anchovies.
Villagio II also offers a nice selection of calzones ranging from the traditional cheese to Spinach. Their stomboli selection is even greater with offerings such as the vegetarian which features fried onions, green peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes and sauce with cheese.
Their sandwich selection is also quite large. Their steaks and chicken steaks are absolutely fantastic but their Gourmet Sandwiches are their biggest lunch attraction. The Roasted Pepper Chicken Sandwich is heaven on a roll... roasted red peppers, mozzarella and chicken served with a side of honey mustard dressing. The Broccoli Melt is also wonderful, with chicken, bacon, broccoli and provolone cheese.
They also have wraps, tripe club sammies as well as hoagies and grinders, gyros and hamburgers. My favorite wrap is the Grilled Chicken, which is served with the traditional Villagio wrap fillings of fresh spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, red onion, green peppers, broccoli and melted cheese along with your choice of dressing. Each wrap features a delicious main ingredient but the fillings make them one-of-a-kind.
Villagio II also serves dinner platters, such as spaghetti and ravioli, eggplant, veal or chicken dishes as well as baked ziti. Each dinner platter comes with homemade tomato sauce, garlic bread and a side salad. Their seafood platters come with fries, cole slaw, a side salad and garlic bread.
Villagio II is a fabulous addition to Bristol's Farragut Avenue and it's a place our family will return to again and again for both their wide variety as well as their impeccable quality of food.
