Villains: From 2000 to the Present Day

Julie Wimmer

Unless you live under a rock, lost in some brush, under some moss, you have heard of the Casey Anthony trial. She has become our latest real life villain. Charged, in 2008, for murdering her two year old daughter, Anthony was recently acquitted on the murder charges. In fact, she was only charged with lying, a misdemeanor, and will be out of jail before the end of this month. Did she actually murder her child (on purpose) or did an accident occur, her family panicked and they stupidly tried to cover it up? I am not sure we will ever know, but there are plenty of people out there who think she is guilty. So she is our latest villain.

Some Famous Real Life Villain's from 2000 to Present Day (just to name a few!!!)

The Texas 7

2000: These seven men escaped from prison, stole identities, robbed stores, beat people, and killed an officer that tried to apprehend them by shooting him 11 times and running over him. They were finally caught in 2001 because of the show "America's Most Wanted".

Execution of Aileen Wuornos

2002: Known as one of the few female serial killers, Wuornos was executed in 2002 by lethal injection. In the 1990's, Wuronos went on a killing spree and killed seven men. She had a horrible upbringing, being abused by her father who was a child molester. She became a prostitute and claimed that the men she killed tried to rape her so it was self-defence. A film starrring, Charlize Theron, was made about Wuronos called "Monster".

The Arrest of Bernie Madoff

2008: Madoff was arrested in December of 2008 after his sons turned him in after he confessed to them about his "Ponzi" scheme ( in basic terms: it's where investors think they are earning profits from a company but rather it is their own money being given back to them). Madoff got away with billions of dollars and scammed thousands of investors. He will die in jail since he was sentenced to 150 years which was the maximum amount.

Kanye West

2009: You don't have to be a murderer, a money launderer or a criminal to be a villain. Kanye West proved that in 2009 when he tore onto stage while Taylor Swift was accepting her award on the VMA's for "Best Female Video" which won over Beyonce's. West did not think Swift deserved it and grabbed her microphone away and went on his quick rant.
