Vince Carter to the Suns in Magic Trade

There have been rumors that the Orlando Magic have been looking to make some trades considering that they have not had a great start. With Dwight Howard to lead the way, Orlando has to find players that can support Howard. The Magic came to terms on a deal with the Suns that directly includes six players.

The gist of the deal is that the Magic will receive Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson, and Earl Clark from the Suns. Hedo Turkoglu has spent years with Magic before and was seen as quite a star for them previously, we will see if the Magic plan on keeping him or seeking trade deals for newer players.

In return for those three players the Suns will receive Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, and Mickael Pietrus. It's a three for three deal but the Suns also receive a 2011 first round pick and possible cash consideration. This trade is somewhat surprising because Richardson had been doing fairly well for the Suns as a supporting player of Steve Nash. But you can't fault the Suns for trying to trim up the team and make an early deal in the season.

There have also been rumors about the Magic working to acquire Arenas from the Washington Wizards. These rumors have picked up since the deal was announced between the Magic and the Suns. The deal shows that the Magic are making big moves to pick up the record of the team and find a line-up that will help push them into the playoffs this year.

The Wizards were able to get the number one pick in John Wall and Gilbert Arenas became a backup soon after. Arenas has not publicly stated what he thinks about going to the Magic but the team talks are certainly in the works. ESPN has been continuing coverage on the Magic efforts acquire Arenas but no definitive agreements have been made yet.
