Vince Shlomi Beats a Prostitute in Miami, ShamSLAPCHOPWow!

According to The Smoking Gun, Vince Shlomi, better known as "The ShamWow guy" from TV, was arrested in Miami, FL a month ago for battering Sasha Harris, a prostitute. Allegedly she propositioned him for sex, he paid her around $1000 in cash for the act, and then he kissed her. She then bit his tongue and wouldn't let go. Shlomi then began to punch her in the face repeatedly until she released his tongue. Shlomi then ran down to the lobby of the hotel, where security called law enforcement.

Vince's commercials have always been a source of entertainment to me, and I've always considered myself a bit of a fan of his. And besides, when you hear a story like this, can you really do anything but laugh? When I read the story a little bit ago, I cracked up personally. Of course you shouldn't go around beating up hookers for no good reason, but what would you do if a complete stranger you had decided to kiss wouldn't release your tongue from between her teeth? Would you have waited politely, or said something like "Wiw oo pwease wewease iy ongue?" I highly doubt it!

So yeah, I guess one could say I'm defending Vince, but I don't really see any reason to do the opposite. People do things, &@#! happens, and Vince is no exception. And, if anything, I'd like to point my finger at Sasha Harris for biting someone's tongue after they had just paid you $1000 in cash. Why on earth did he have to punch her multiple times before she let go of his tongue? I'm in no way advocating prostitution, but treat others as you would wish to be treated. Violence begets violence, etc etc.

As you can tell by his mug shot, Vince didn't escape the hotel room without a few scratches of his own. But if that's what he looks like, I'm surprised Ms. Harris's mugshot doesn't look worse. And with the police report stating that she suffered multiple "lacerations" and "fractures" to her face, it seems like I'm missing something here. And by the look of the police photographs, I don't really think Vince needed to look any worse than he already did. He looks 20 year older than he does on his commercials! How much make up do they ice his face with for those commercials, anyways?

Once everything blows over, I personally hope that Vince's career is still left standing. It'd be a sad day when ShamWow and Slap Chop ads cease to exist on the tube. Prosecutors have thus far declined to press charges against Shlomi, and hopefully it'll stay that. Sadly, only time will tell if the ShamWow guy's career makes it out of this one in one piece.
