The Best Sandwich Place in Town

I can remember the very first time I ever ventured into Vincent's. I was picking up some dry cleaning and could smell the fresh baked bread from next door. I paid my tab at the dry cleaners and followed my nose next door. I opened the door and noticed about half a dozen people eating enormous sandwiches. I walked to the counter and picked up a menu and a friendly woman from the other side of the counter asked what I wanted. I told her that it was my first time and asked what she recommended. She said, "The Californian is my favorite." I asked her what came on the sandwich and she listed off the ingredients, "Well, it's a Panini made with sliced turkey breast, onions, tomato and our very own spinach and artichoke cream cheese spread." So I told her to go ahead and make me that one, but to leave the onions off. As I made my way down to the cash register, I noticed the display case of all kinds of baked goods. The case was filled with cookies, scones, bear claws, muffins, and loaves of bread. All of which they make themselves. I noticed behind the counter the several baskets of fresh bagels and asked them to bag half a dozen up for me to take home for breakfast the next morning. It took about 10 minutes total from order to pick up to get my sandwich made, but after taking the first bite I did not care one bit. It was just as good as it sounded and more than enough sandwich for me to save half and eat at a later date.

I have since gone back on numerous occasions and have had all but one of the sandwiches on their menu. All of them are superb and are all made from either sliced bread or sub rolls that they make themselves. All of their baked goods are amazing and their prices are reasonable. They are not the cheapest sandwich shop in town, but they are not the most expensive either. Their price ranges from about 4 dollars to $5.95 and that does not include chips or any side. Their sandwiches are so big that you really don't need a side. Their baked goods are cheap, ranging from a 75 cent cookie to a $1.50 monster muffin. They have a chocolate cookie that has a peanut butter filling and a chocolate chip cookie with a fudge filling, both are to die for. They also sell all of the bread that they use by the loaf, and in the summer time they add fruit from the local orchards to their bread for a nice twist.

The restaurant itself may be small, but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff are all friendly and courteous. The floors are always clean, as are the bathrooms. Overall I love this restaurant, it is a great, "hole in the wall" and a nice change from the normal sandwich chain.
