How about all of the Hawaii naysayers? I know I said Georgia would win with the running game, but c'mon, I didn't see this happening. Kansas, beware: Weak scheduling doesn't help when you're facing a dominant team. Although Georgia is slightly better than Virginia Tech, eh?
I've been vindicated, along with everyone who agreed with me, that Illinois shouldn't have been in the Rose Bowl. Now, everyone who said the Fighting Illini should be there had perfectly valid arguments....but I will enjoy this brief moment of being right Especially since my article "5 college football predictions" turned out a big .5 for 5. That's batting .100....ick!
Virginia came out and impressed me with how the dominated Texas Tech...for 3 quarters. But the kicker made a FG when it counted, even though he was 12-of-20 before. The Cavalier defense made enough plays to give the offense a chance, but in the end high-power overcame the obstacle.
How about the Big Ten? Wisconsin almost takes down Tennessee (whew!), and Michigan defeats Florida?!?! I admit, I had no idea that was gonna happen. Congratulations to Lloyd Carr on going out in style and shocking us all one last time.
The SEC is hurting themselves right now, but not so much as some people claim. Arkansas got embarrassed, but c'mon, who honestly thinks Missouri should've been playing in that bowl? I hope Kansas gets owned badly, so we can hate the BCS for 3 terrible bowl games. And Florida? Well, okay, that's one loss. However, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Tennessee all won. Sounds like a pretty good record to me, 5-2.
All of us BCS haters have been vindicated by 3 crappy bowls- the Cotton, the Sugar, and the Rose. Screw tradition, screw you "committees," I want real entertainment. You all should be fired for screwing up. Anyone else want to claim the BCS isn't a joke?
Okay....anyway, now that the recycled hatred has been brought to light again....I'll head to bed now Feeling a bit better. And vindicated.
