Whether you call the fashion vintage, shabby chic or retro, used and recycled clothing is a hot trend. Vintage clothing allows the wearer to create a totally unique look and to refashion clothes from throwaway to runway. In Conway, Arkansas, there are several places to shop if you are looking for a unique piece of vintage clothing.

One of the most popular places in Conway for second hand, gently used clothing is the Yours Truly Consignment Shoppe at 1052 Harrison Street. Your Truly has over 14,000 square feet of shopping space. The clothes are well organized and are sorted by season, size and color. There are seven dressing rooms, so you never have to guess on sizes. Over 200 items are added to their inventory every day, including specialty items like purses, belts and extended and maternity size clothes. Prices are set by the consignees and tend to be somewhat expensive for used clothing.

Magnolias on Washington Avenue has a large selection of classic vintage clothing. Clothes are sorted by tops, with old Levi Jeans and other popular denim brands taking up a large amount of space. The employees are extremely helpful and the prices are extremely competitive.

The Conway Humane Society Thrift Shop is another great place for vintage clothing finds. The Conway Humane Society Thrift Shop is located on Washington Ave. and all proceeds go to help homeless animals. The selection is somewhat limited, but the prices are low and all the money goes to a great cause. In addition to vintage clothing, there are accessories like shoes and belts to add a retro touch to a modern outfit.

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in downtown Conway is another great place to find vintage clothing. The Salvation Army is small and has a very limited selection of women's clothing, but an occasional gem can be found. Prices range anywhere from 50 cents to $3.50 for shirts and blouses up to $5 for jeans and pants. There are no fitting rooms, so be prepared to come away with some ill-fitting pieces.

The best place to find vintage clothing in Conway for a bargain price is the Goodwill Store on Sanders Road. The Goodwill Store is located in a new, modern building equipped with two fitting room and plenty of space. The clothes are sorted by size and style. There are many racks of womens and junior clothes, and some of it is somewhat worn and threadbare. Diligence will often payoff with great finds like a 1950s prom dress for $7.50. The Goodwill Store also has many handbags, shoes and belts as well as a large selection of mens wear. Prices vary widely, from as little as a quarter for some pieces to as high as $25 for a newer formal gown.
