The St Paul Retro Loop provides an excellent way to find vintage clothing in the St Paul area. These stores, all located within just a few miles of each other, offer vintage clothing, furniture, and accessories.

Lula, located at 1587 Selby Avenue, focuses primarily on clothing, as well as a wide selection of handbags. The clothing is moderately priced. This small shop has a very personable owner who will happily help customers select pieces to add to their wardrobe. This store has repeatedly earned the City Pages title of Best Used Clothing (Vintage) Store in the Twin Cities.

UpSix Vintage, 157 Snelling Ave (just south of I-94), is a diverse store that carries home goods and furnishings as well as clothing and accessories. Like Lula, its very friendly owner is happy to provide personal service. Great deals can be found among the moderately priced offerings. Spring, Anniversary (September) and Holiday (December) sales are excellent times to check this store out.

Go Vintage is located at 1560 Selby Avenue. This puts a new spin on "vintage" as items can be found from the recent past all the way back to the turn of the century. This shop has a very large selection of women's goods, but is limited for men's options. Excellent deals on like-new goods can be found here, including men's jackets in wonderful condition.

Ragstock has many locations in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, including Rosedale Mall. The selection is great and prices are wonderful, although the store has an edgy atmosphere that may be off-putting to some types of customers. Service is not as personal as some of the other shops, but good deals can certainly be found, and the location provides a convenient place to do other shopping as well.

Thrift stores often get a bad rap, but many of the Goodwill Thrift stores are clean, spacious, nicely lit, and offer a decent shopping experience. Although true vintage clothing is not as easy to find, the prices are incredible. Daily deals are arranged by the tag color, and the selection is constantly rotating. Vintage gems can be found, and all clothing is excellent quality. St Paul/Roseville locations include 1627 County Rd B West and 2505 University Ave.

Salvation Army, like Goodwill, operates many clean, well-organized stores where the proceeds go to benefit a charitable organization. Like Goodwill, service is not as personal and selection is not as good as other places, but the prices can't be beat. The quality of the clothes is excellent, even if the "vintage" offerings are limited. St. Paul area locations include 2900 Rice St in Little Canada, and 572 University in St. Paul.
