Now, I always come across great Vintage License Plates. I even find Vintage License Plates at the flea market every summer. Each of these would be perfect to make into this simple clock.

Drill a small hole in the middle of the Vintage License Plate. Use a metal drill bit.

This hole will be for your clock kit, so you may want to take a look at that and see if there are any size conditions for this small hole. You don't have to center the clock face; you could offset it for some visual interest.

Now, you are ready to install your clock kit on the Vintage License Plate. Follow the direction on the clock kit box. Each kit will be slightly different. I find clock kits at the hardware store, the home improvement store, and almost every single arts and craft store out there. I recommend a clock kit that runs on a battery so that you do not have to have a cord hanging out of the back of the Vintage License Plate, but that is complexly up to you.

Now, some clock kits will come with numbers, but you may find that they are too big for this Vintage License Plate project.

You can use these great mini wooden numbers sold at the arts and craft store for this if you want. You could also use little wooden circle cut outs. I like to paint them out in tire colors that will really show on the Vintage License Plate, glue them on and really make this look great.

You could also buy wooden cut out in the shape of circles. Go ahead and paint them out in their colors. When they dry you can glue on some smaller wooden cutout numbers. Paint these in all the same color like white, red, or yellow to tie the Vintage License Plate clock piece together.

Pop a battery into your clock kit and you can now hang your Vintage License Plate clock on the wall. If you are hanging it in a family game room why not hang it where everyone will see it! This will be a really conversation starter when the kids have friends over to spend the night!

Just remember, you can make this Vintage License Plate clock with any sized Vintage License Plate! Smaller Vintage License Plates will just need smaller clock kits.
